TEN. MONTHS. OLD.

Double digits. Wow. Only a month and a half of maternity leave left for me; I’m going to miss my time with him so much!! And only 2 months until he is a year old? He’s still my little baby to me.

A few new things in Eskil’s life:

• Eskil thinks clapping is the new awesomest thing ever. He can wave too, but his heart belongs to clapping. And he likes to put his hands on mine while I clap – aww.
• He LOVES playing hide and seek! Or as he calls it, ‘Where’s Eskil?’.
• Eskil sits well independently, although if he forgets what he is doing he might still fall over sometimes.
• Eskil finished his first term of swimming lessons. We start back 23 June.
• Eskil still commando crawls backwards and rotates clockwise on his tummy. In the last two days he’s become obsessed with getting up on his hands and toes, then sometimes down onto his knees, so I suspect traditional crawling isn’t far away. Unless he decides to walk on his hands and feet.
• He eats solids that aren’t too solid rather well. He has some finger foods – which Lottie thinks is a good idea when she gets the leftovers in her bowl! And he likes to play ‘king of spoon’, i.e. taking control of his spoon during a meal. But why does learning to eat have to be SO MESSY! 
• Still no teeth yet.  A friend said the later they get them, the less bothersome it is for them.  I certainly hope so!
• He isn’t keen on water, but I think that might have more to do with not liking something unfamiliar in his mouth. He is very set in his ways when it comes to his favourite spoon, and recently when we tried using a different bottle for expressed breast milk he did NOT like the idea.
• He still sleeps really well, usually from about 8 pm to 7 am. We even went to dinner at a friend’s place one night, and he fell asleep perfectly well in our friend’s beanbag and transferred well going into the car and then into his cot.
