Day 2: Wine & Welcome. . .

Hills behind the vines at Kirigin CellarsI woke up at 7.30am.  But thought I needed more sleep.  I woke up at 8.30am – but hey, I’m on holiday.  I woke up at 10.40am and thought I should get up before I aclimatised myself back to Tasmanian time!  Hopped in the shower – ah. . .being clean again after trans Pacific journies is FANTASTIC – and Scott woke up while I was in there (and checked on me to make certain I hadn’t fallen back asleep. . .).  I logged the cache finds from the day before, chatted with dad, uploaded photos, etc.  Mum made brunch, we prepared some Snuva signature items for the event this evening, and then off we went to see the winery where my sister works, Kirigin Cellars!

There was a couple with her in the tasting room when we arrived, so we checked out the cricket pitch then had our own private tasting.  My mum is quite proud of the fact that at her age she was able to sing and danse on the bar, so we won’t bear any criticism of her behaviour this afternoon thank you very much!  When mum could be peeled away from the tasting room, we were given a tour of winery, including of the cellar.  Yummm. . . wine. . .I can imagine just sitting down there with the Cheesy Pigs, DDTs, el golco, and Sog n Paulus and just sipping away (too bad there’s no wedges or Coke for Swampy).

After letting Maria get back to work, we dropped of mum and made our way out to do some geocaching with TS and dad!  We just did a couple in Morgan Hill as we had the Morgan Hill Meet & Greet “Aussie Invasion” to get to by 7 pm!  well, we were caching so I think it was 7.15 when we arrived – but we had SUCH a FANTASTIC time!  It was really special meeting all the lunatics I’ve seen chatting away in the GBA forums, everyone was so friendly and GENEROUS.  I kept Scott out much later than he wanted to stay, but he still promises to marry me.  Hmm. . .how will I test his patience tomorrow?!?!
