Boxing Day, with 3 'Boxes' Found

Pole LandBoxing day, and I thought a trip to 7 Mile Beach would be a good way to spend some time.  The first stop was on the way to seek the geocache A Stranger in Warsaw.  I guess it was the new wide roads, the outdoor / outlet style mall, and the office building, but this cache reminded me a lot of caching in California.  At the first waypoint we had to do a lot of counting, so Scott and I started on opposite ends so we could see if we agreed on the number.  I had to start several times as Lottie kept wanting to roll in something, but it didn’t take long and GZ was pretty straightforward.

Then we were off to the DDT’s 2008 edition of ‘Amongst the Fir Trees’.  These are fun – and a bit of a Hobart geocaching tradition.  There are several groves / plantations of pine trees near 7 Mile Beach, so the DDTs hide a large cache with lots of Christmas themed swaps.  I find the smell of the trees lovely – and these are just fun caches to get as there’s a bit of a surprise if you stop just looking at your GPSr!

Later in the day we went to Moonah thinking we would go to the Japanese restaurant for dinner.  But apparently you’re not supposed to go out to dinner on Boxing Day.  So it was off to the grocer for stir-fry ingredients.  And we did Sherlock Holmes 1 on the way home.
