An Ill Lottie & Naked Stairs

We had a rather subdued start to 2009.  On New Year’s Eve it became apparent Lottie wasn’t well as she hadn’t had anything to eat or drink since the day before.  I took her to the vet, and he said she had some sort of tummy bug.  Well, actually I think she was in league with her vet.  He had told me that she would want ‘bland comfort food’ and recommended lean chicken breast, gently cooked, with dry dog food that had been soaked in water.  She didn’t eat the soaked dry food, however the chicken went down fairly well.  To encourage her to drink water I laced it with a dash of milk.  She didn’t drink a lot, but she did have some – the little mammal. Either the injections from the vet helped or it ran it’s course as she’s her silly self again.

Scott took up the last of the ugly old pink carpeting in the house: the stairs.  The carpet was rather smelly and awful, but we were worried about how slippery the steps might be.  They aren’t too bad, but they don’t look great.  They were polished at some point (but a redder colour than the rest of the floorboards) but have very obviously worn out areas.  The joys of an older house.  At least the wood doesn’t smell and cleans up nicely!
