Lottie’s first geocaching event!

Lottie had a great weekend!  Friday night she was finally able to meet Karen, aka MullinitOvr, who came down from Launnie to spend the night.

The next morning we set off – first we took Julian to a friend’s shack at Primrose Sands and then we were off to Dippedy’s Dips and Dippers “Do”.  We got some yummy sandwiches (and a ham and cheese bread for Lottie) at the Richmond Bakery, then made our way to the event location.  It was a fantastic spot!  Dippedy must have gotten there quite early to ensure we would have the perfect place – two covered BBQs at a bit of a distance from each other, bench mostly in the shade, uphill of the river, and a multitude of those Damn Ducks.

Dippedy really did a fantastic job with the Dips and Dippers and Bikkies. Plus Dippedy had made special canine friendly treats!

Lottie had a fantastic time!  She enjoyed the special canine treats,  And she was finally able to meet more of the local cachers – I was really eager for her to meet Swampy, who Snuva really loved, and Mrs Cheesy Pig seemed quite taken by the beauty of the new leader of our team.  She’s still a little unsure of meeting new people, however she’s such a chill girl that she had a bit of a snooze under the table – I also think it was cooler there (did I mention it was HOT!).

There were plenty of great cachers to meet up with or see again.  It was great meeting SamCarter, who was on her way back to the big island after the event, and Mr & Mrs Prionotes.  The newest cachers in Tassie, Xorg and Pixelwarrior, made it as well.  And I met seashells95.  All fantastic people to add to the other fantastic Tassie cachers.

We couldn’t stay too long, but we did hit a few caches with MullinitOvr before going home – first “Every Player Wins A Prize!”, then CENT5ational GeoCoin Exchange, then River Crossing.  River Crossing was pretty exciting.  There was an old car that had broken down RIGHT in the road.  Not only was that a problem, but the car was obviously transporting a groom and groomsmen.  It was quite hot and sticky, however they wound up hoofing it to the Botanical Gardens.  We were going to go to Snuva’s Haunt and Lottie’s Lookout, however Scott was a bit anxious for me to get home so we could go to our friend Wolf’s 60th birthday party.  So we’ll have to hit those (and more) next time!
