As our radio alarm clock woke us up to the 6 am news broadcast on Radio National, I heard that the Netherlands – Spain World Cup Final was still being played and was a nil-all draw (Spain would win 4 minutes before the end of extra time while I was in the shower), that the Governor-General Quentin Bryce had delayed an overseas trip amid speculation that our new Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, would soon call an election, and that Opposition spokesmen were silly.

What featured in my day?  Lottie had her groomer appointment, so I had to fit taking her to/from her appointment around a work day jam packed full of meetings.  I was recovering from yet another cold (this one was the husband’s fault, not @delboy1203 or @croyle) and felt like I spent the whole day breathlessly playing catch-up.  Which I guess I was!
