dak, a geocaching friend, has died so there’s a bit of sadness at Snuva HQ. dak and I cached together when he came to Hobart to train and when he came specially to be one of the guru’s for Geocaching 101. He was great fun, with a passion for life and geocaching. He wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion of things, but as we agreed on most things that was fine by me! He travelled a lot and made geocaching friends all over. So many people are going to miss him.

This isn’t the greatest photo of dak, but I like it anyway as it reminds me of caching with him. Here he is looking for one of the clues to PastleBeard’s Treasure. He was an unabashed numbers man, so I would highlight multis or puzzles I thought we really needed to do. But even among the numbers he’d pause to take in the scenery – even if only for a moment.
