Euro14 Day 44: Jardins du Luxembourg and heading home

Temperature: Min 14°C; Max 28°C (but at least 48°C on the train the airport).
Weather: Sunny and hot.

We had our last breakfast in the flat, then cleaned it ready to hand the keys back over. It was small but lovely, and certainly had everything we needed. The host arrived, chatted, and even phoned a taxi for us so we could go to the Gare du Nord and put our bags in storage. This was eventually done successfully, we waited in a queue to purchase our tickets to the airport for later (better to wait in a queue with the whole day ahead of you!). Outside the Gare du Nord I dont’ know what this group was doing other than being advertising something by being stereotypically French.
Play to your stereotypes?
We took a bus back to the Jardins du Luxembourg. Our intention was to let Eskil watch boats and fish in the pond and play and play and play in the fabulous playground – as last treat before the long trip back to Tasmania.

We had lunch on the Boulevard Saint-Michel, then grabbed a bus back to the Gare du Nord.

We were trying to leave before rush hour, but our train was absolutely, totally, and completely packed. And hot. And rather miserable. However we were in good time for our flight, so rested, then checked in, then relaxed and readied ourselves for the flight at the gate. Eskil was an old hand at airplanes at this point!
