Euro14 Day 35: exploring the edge of England

Temperature: Min 16°C; Max 27°C.
Weather: Mostly sunny.
This was our last day in the UK. We’d considered going to Canterbury, however it was likely to be quite busy. We’d had rather a lot of quite busy towns, so before heading off to Paris we decided to wander the coast and find out where our whimsy took us.
But first Eskil wanted to look at the B&B’s kitten and rabbits and chooks and dogs. . .
Kitten et al
We headed southwest on small roads and reached the coast at Hastings. From here we followed along the coast, stopping at Cooden Beach for a coffee, some rock throwing, and some flirting (Eskil did the rock throwing and flirting).

We headed on through Eastbourne and to Beachy Head.

After going for a bit of a walk at Beachy Head and heading back east, we stopped off at a playground in Eastbourne. Then as we approached Hastings the traffic became awful, so we headed to Battle for some lunch and to run some errands. Then we took more lovely, twisty country roads back to Ashford. In Ashford we scoped out the Eurostar terminal, where we would leave our car the next morning and take a train to Paris. Then we headed back to our B&B to do a final reorganisation and repacking of our bags.
Chooks
We had enjoyed our meal and beer at The Blacksmiths Arms the night before, so we headed back. This time we sat in the beer garden, which even had a playground. Fabulous!

And so the sun set on our last day in the United Kingdom. For this trip.
