Well the summer solstice has come and gone, so although it’s only just feeling like summer – and the hottest days are ahead of us – our days will start being shorter. Being a Monday, we went down to Cornelian Bay last night so Lottie could have a good bounce. There was a standard poodle named Soottie that she really enjoyed playing chasing with. And of course the obligatory cooling off in the smelly Bay. Corelian Bay is relatively calm and shallow, so the bottom is quite silty and the muck seems to ferment. Dog magnet if I’ve ever heard of one!Â

I know I’ve said it many times recently, but Lottie’s so much more confident than she was when she started living with us! She instigates play now – loves playing chasings with other dogs. And although she’s cautious of the Rottweilers, she’ll play with them now. (There’s a photo to the left of when she used to go to Scott for comfort when the Rotties arrived; she even used to get scared when she heard their owner’s voice as she knew they would soon be coming.) Nitro unfortunately is no longer around, however Orton is and has a new sister, Zeeba. Lottie was larger than Zeeba when they first met, but she’s about half the size of her now.  Lottie had a good play with her last night, even though (despite her size) Zeeba is just a pup and I think doesn’t realise how aggressive her play is.  I was a bit worried at times, but Lottie seemed fine with it.
