12 of 12 is a project I’ve been doing for several years: taking 12 photos of your day on the 12th of every month. Sometimes the 12th falls on a special day; sometimes the 12th falls on just a normal day you wouldn’t otherwise document. However even ‘just a normal’ day can be interesting to other people or to yourself later on.
The 12th of May 2013 was a Sunday and was Mother’s Day. They day started as the sun was rising; I could hear Eskil start to stir and sing to himself. It was a STUNNING sunrise, so I snapped a photo then got Eskil’s porridge with banana made before getting him out of his cot. Scott and I drank some coffee; poor Lottie had a bath. We went to visit Scott’s father at Huon Eldercare, but there had been an outbreak of gastro and flu so we couldn’t see him. Lottie didn’t have a bath in vain though; she was much admired in the lobby. I found a geocache (yeah!), then we had a lovely walk along the foreshore of the Huon River, ate some brunch, and Eskil fell asleep in the car on the way home (he hasn’t done that in a while!). At home I did a lot of cooking – mazariner, split pea soup, enchiladas. And we danced with Eskil and Lottie before Eskil went to bed.
*Disclaimer: there could possibly be more than 12 photos. But, you know, there could have been LOTS MORE.
