Creek. It is a great short walk for the whole family (including
dogs). The Nierinna Creek Reserve is managed by the Kingborough Council.
The track has been well built and has bridges and some seating.
Track maintenance is variable, and can be very muddy and slippery
in the wetter months. Water availability is not reliable in the
drier months.
<p>The track is well signposted. It follows the creek line on a
grassy verge to a meadow. The track then begins to climb through
bushland. It crosses a private road adjacent to Perrins Road; again
this crossing is well signposted.</p>
<p>We took the two smallest red tags (and black and white red tag)
with us to place the cache. The walk starts at the end of Burnaby
Drive. To get to the start of the track, turn off from the Channel
Highway into Sandfly Road and then left into Nierinna Road (which
is in front of a church). Burnaby Drive is the first turn on the
right. It is a no through road and the entrance to the track is on
the left of the turning circle at the end of the road.</p>
<p>If you are a gardener, there is an added bonus; there is an open
garden on the corner that you can tour through for a nominal fee
($5.00 at time of listing)</p>

Caching with number two daughter today. Took a couple of apples for snacks but I had to give mine up to a persuasive horse in an adjacent paddock. I'm pretty sure the track has been invaded by fairies, plenty of little fairy homes along the way. Took a picture of a purple heartshaped one and will load it on eventually (I can't at the moment as dial up is so slow). Picked up a TB and left another in its place. Thanks Red Tag.2009-03-04T08:00:00Found itRoaring 40sNoticed the previous two finders collected buzzies, well that was good of them because it's Mrs R40s birthday today and we thought we would get this cache and work up an appetite for the pending meal.

I had a wonderful relaxed, blackberry filled stroll along the creek this morning [:)]
The sheep and horses were keeping a close eye on my progress upstream. A fleeting 20minutes or so of ambling bought me to the meadow which I happily wandered across, ignorant of what 'buzzies' were [:D]
The cache was found easily and I left phils geocoin.
After strolling back across the meadow I sat down on the comfy seat, looked at my feet and found out that 'buzzies' are not horseflies as I had assumed [:I]
After the unexpected delay chasing away the 'buzzies' I wandered back to the geomobile making sure to grab some of the blackberries I had missed on the way in [:P]
TFTC2009-03-02T08:00:00Found itDippedidoodaNo, there are still plenty of buzzies - just ask Maddie! She stopped halfway across the buzzie paddock (near to the cache), went no further and started de-buzzying herself, which isn't easy with such fluffy fur! While she was doing that, I logged the cache. But enough of buzzies, we both really enjoyed it - some nice blackberries too at the moment - although I noticed some of the good ones missing... [;)] A great track, thanks for showing it to us, red tag. And as it happens, I've been to the nearby Open Garden too - can recommend it if you like gardens- there are nice bird aviaries incorporated (so was able to attract M to go along as well on that day!) Coincidental, given that I've been to a total of about three open gardens ever! Thanks for the cache, red tag!2009-02-26T08:00:00Found itRapidSupremeNo. 3 on Tour De red tag and another easy walk. The North West Bay River drops around 235m over its 13.8km length.
Please note that there is a lot of private property above the river reserve so please be careful going to or from the hide. If you go via Miandetta Drive there's a walkway between two drive ways that gives you access.

She made it a goodun' - swam over to the rock on the other side, then was tentative about launching off it, but in the end there wasn't much option! Mind you, the tail never stopped wagging - maybe she was just prolonging the fun. I think the swim got a few of the buzzies off of her too. Interesting location, nice spot by the river. Two local muggle children had found the cache in January I think, they've then come back to swap some of the "treasure" - noted by a parent (presumably) in the log: all looks good.
