33 Months

Since mummy is so bad at getting her act together to post these on time, this may be mainly photos.  However there are a few updates on Eskil:

  • He adores categorising things.  He’ll line things up – pairs of shoes, plates in a ‘snake’ line according to colour, train tracks by shape.
  • He’s hard to go for a walk with.  He will sprint off in any direction paying no heed to cars.  He usually refuses to hold hands and won’t ride in his pram or stroller.  He loves being carried or riding on daddy’s shoulders, so we’re getting a carrier for our trip away.
  • Although he used to adore Lottie, he’s quite bossy with her at the moment.  Poor Lottie; she usually just stays out of his way.  They get on best when we’re outdoors or attempting to walk.
  • Eskil has many stuffed toys that must come to bed with him: orange dinosaur, green dinosaur, tiger and of course Bubby Fox and Monkey George.  He also has a pillow now.
  • All of his clothes seem to be shrinking.  There are all sorts of things that I remember as being way too big for him, and suddenly they seem to small.  This is very strange as we wash in cold water.  To remedy this we’ve had to get clothes in larger sizes to allow for shrinkage.  Surely these will last for years?
  • Eskil has a group of close friends at day care, basically a gang of boys.  The educators at day care are very brave!  A new phrase he’s brought back from day care is ‘too loud’; is it any wonder?
  • Speaking of new phrases, he seems to trot out new phrases and words and grammatical constructions every single day.  One he gleefully shouts from the back seat of the car when you’re driving and can’t do anything about it is: I eat boogies!
  • We visited our dear friend Karen in Devonport over the Easter long weekend, and Eskil got to meet her grandson Lachlann who is only 6 weeks younger than him.  They LOVED playing together!  ‘I’m too busy!’
  • Eskil travelled well, which bodes well for going away.  He napped in the car, slept well in a strange travel cot, and even ate better than at home.
