Euro14 Day 43: Versailles

Temperature: Min 14°C; Max 27°C.
Weather: Sunny and hot.

Today we headed out of Paris to the Château de Versailles. Eskil enjoyed getting there as it involved tummel trains and a big train. We thought we were rather clever as we pre-paid for our tickets online, however everyone does these days so we still had a huge wait in a giant snake of a queue although we were there early. Oh well; Eskil enjoyed running off like a mad thing and flirting.

It was grand, however there were so many people there it was rather miserable. Everywhere there were queues, people pushing, etc. It’s hard to criticise the numbers of people though as they were doing just what we were doing, i.e. visiting Versailles. The joys of peak season travel.

Digga spotting!!
Crane!
Not quite as many people
Skylight
Rameau again!

We found a cafe within the palace that wasn’t horribly busy, so took a little break. Eskil ate macarons.
More macarons

There was renovation in the front of the palace and in the gardens behind. Eskil was impressed!
Another crane!

It was very hot. There were a lot of people. There were long distances to walk in the heat. We ate ice cream, then Eskil rode a horse.

Back ‘home’, Eskil and I hung out at the Jardin Anne-Frank while Scott got us felafels for dinner. YUM.
