Euro14 Day 40: the day of FOUR Parisian playgrounds (plus 2 museums)

Temperature: Min 16°C; Max 30°C.
Weather: Sunny and hot.

As today was the final stage of the Tour de France, which held us up so much in the Yorkshire Dales, we wanted to avoid crowds and closures. So we decided first off to head to the Musée Marmottan Monet. There were several playgrounds near the museum, so Eskil played in them all, before and after the museum. Photos were not allowed in the museum, but it was stunning – and even better for us having been to Giverny already.

Next we went to the Hôtel Biron (hooray tummel train!), which is the Rodin museum. There was a queue outside as it was so busy. We were amusing Eskil, who was asking questions and being a kid. The couple behind us was a bit grumpy.

Yeah, well, you’re supposed to keep off the grass.

The boys in this sand pit were so very kind to Eskil. They let him play with their sand toys and were so friendly. They even offered to let him keep one of the toys. Wonderful therapy for a boy who misses having friends!

Eskil also made friends in the park next to our flat in the Jardin Anne-Frank. Lots of children and their nannies.

This is what we saw of the finale of the Tour de France.
A flyover of airplanes spraying blue, white, and red - as if an international sporting event just finished.
The Jardin Anne-Frank is lovely. Half a peaceful spot and half a playground for children. We came here many nights for a final play before going home.

Scott headed out in the evening to see a concert at Sainte Chappelle. I was so pleased he did, and so pleased he went to one at Sainte Chappelle!
