Euro14 Day 20: Journey through Wales

Temperature: Min 11°C; Max 20°C.
Weather: Sunny, getting cloudy in the afternoon.

We had a lovely breakfast, in our a private dining room, at our hotel, then headed out into the beautiful, sunny day. Llandudno was certainly looking beautiful. It’s a stunning seaside town.

Then we headed through Conway, then inland to the wilds of Wales.

We had a lot of miles to cover, so Eskil helped out.

There were lots of road works; we got the impression that winter can be harsh so there was just the summer to get all the roads back to scratch. Eskil enjoyed seeing the diggers and trucks. Often we’d be behind a truck, and if it was going faster than us, he would yell ‘CATCH IT!’. If we caught up to a digger or truck, he would say ‘it’s come back!’.

Eventually we were at the English border – and Hay-on-Wye, a book town. This was so us!

And after we all came to the realisation that books weigh a lot more than our airlines would be happy with, we had ice cream. We also had an enjoyable chat with another family – so enjoyable time got away from us a bit. Then it was time to pile back into the car and avoid major towns on our way to our hotel near Cirencester. As we headed into England, the terrain was much more rolling.
